CENE Media and Kwesé Partner to Bring Unique VOD Service Kwesé Play to Botswana

Leading Internet Service Provider CENE Media, has partnered with Econet Media’s pan-African media company Kwesé, to bring the best in on-demand content to Botswana through the broadcaster’s video streaming service Kwesé Play. The official launch was done in Capital Cinema at the Masa on Wednesday night the 21st of February. CENE Media live streamed their service into the Cinema showcasing the Kwese Play bouquet of programs which was viewed by over 150 guests. The crowd were impressed that this service gives you multiple entertainment options and is powered by your internet.

The Roku device is an easy plug and play device, giving the user the option to connect to the internet through Wi-Fi. The ease of use is a unique selling point with shortcut buttons to some of its premium content such as Netflix, YouTube, Red Bull TV and the Kwesé bouquet.

Botswana ISP CENE Media to offer Kwesé Play

Econet Media’s video streaming platform Kwesé Play is now being streamed in Botswana following a tie-up with Internet provider CENE Media.

The agreement will see CENE Media use its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service to deliver on-demand over-the-top (OTT) entertainment from Kwesé Play.

Along with Kwesé TV content, the Roku-powered streaming service provides Netflix, NBA TV, TED and Red Bull TV. The plug and play device allows the user to either connect to the Internet using an ethernet cable or through Wi-Fi.

“CENE Media have delighted to have partnered with one of the biggest content providers in Africa to bring live news, sport, massive libraries of new TV shows and movies,” said Neo Moroka, chairman of CENE Media.

With the launch, Goabaone Kgosana, manager for Kwesé Botswana, said that the company has reaffirmed its commitment to providing premium content to African viewers across multiple platforms.

The move follows the recent acquisition by Kwesé TV of a ‘significant’ stake in the African operation of video-on-demand (VOD) service iflix, to help it deliver mobile video content across the continent.
